Drax Webinar: Implications of Covid-19 on supply chain, and how best to prepare for change

On Wednesday, May 6, Drax held a one hour “Chatham House Rules” round table for the Private Equity community to discuss current challenges and issues on supply chain as a result of this crisis and how best to prepare for the key decisions ahead.

The Covid-19 crisis is causing significant stress to companies’ supply chains, whether it be social distancing in warehouses, through to managing credit risk and huge fluctuations in demand, as well as the interrupted supply of key components. In the medium term, many businesses will seek to diversify suppliers to manage future supply risk, bringing manufacturing back to Europe from Asia, and many supply chain business models will evolve, for example moving toward asset light or delivery oriented models, or rethinking just in time strategies.
